Saïna, the band, formed at The Brit School and comprises: Saïna (singer songwriter), Adam Hughes (keyboards), Charlie Runham (bass) Bleu Wright (drums) and Joseph Oti (trumpet).
Besides playing the piano, Adam, from East London, also produces. His main interests are Jazz and Hiphop. His influences include Herbie Hancock, Robert Glasper, J Dilla and Flying Lotus.
Bleu has been drumming since he was six years’ old. Making beats and producing is part of his everyday life. He has a passion for Joy Division and A Tribe Called Quest.
South Londoner Charlie Runham has been playing the bass for 4 years. He met Saïna and the rest of the band while studying at the BRIT School. He quotes his main influences as Derrick Hodge, Micheal League and Ron Carter.
Trumpeter Joseph Oti, from North London, gives the band some real jazz colour. He takes inspiration from artists such as Clifford Brown, Rob Araoujo and Gold Link.
